Damning and overpopulation in the United States has turned what was once a flowing mass of water, the Colorado River, into a dust filled trench in Mexico.  Over the years, Mexican farmers in the State of Sonora watched the water slowly disappear, until one day it was all gone.  Conditions in the region are now reminiscent of the depression era dust bowl in the United States.
