Gold Mine workers of Diwalwal (Mt. Diwata), work almost 24 hours each day under extreme conditons inside the tunnels. Gold was discovered recently in this mountain, in 1983. Following the discovery, thousands of people flocked to the mountain, digging tunnels, and makeshift houses above ground. More than 60,000 people inhabit the area. Dynamite blasting is commonly used for clearing rocks. Cyanide and mercury are commonly used for extracting gold from the rocks after crushing thru the ballmills. Mt.
