The treatment continued, and Lucas continued taking the pain. Later that summer, Lucas became more active than he had ever been, and we were hopeful. In the summer of 2007, the Make A Wish Foundation had asked Lucas what he wanted. He said he wanted to see a volcano, and so the family was packed and excited to leave for Hawaii. Before they could leave though, Lucas' cancer had unexpectedly and aggressively spread.
