Originally she grew up and studied in Baku - Azerbaigjan- but moved in Karabagh in 1972 to work as a teacher in a azerbaidjian school.  Because of the eradication of these schools during the conflict started in 1988, she now works at the radio station in Stepanakert for "Voice of Justice" - a program that try to settle bridges amongst Azeris and Armenian from Karabagh. Raya, 61 years old, is nowadays one of the very few azeris still living in Nagorno Karabagh. She never wanted to live the actual Karabagh because she considers it to be also her homeland. "I am used to be with Armenian. I can't go back to Baku because my children -borned in NK- will stay here. Maybe in Yerevan it would be easier but I don't speack good enought Armenian.
