O'Connor, a 24-year-old Roger Williams architecture student is one of about 160 Providence residents that are part of the international couch surfing network. Since he joined a little more than a year ago, he's hosted more than 10 guests for various lengths of stay and reasons. Some are looking at Brown and RISD, others are just backpacking around the United States and want a place to stay where they can get some local culture. He's also traveled to Spain to stay with someone who had stayed with him.
