**ON SPEC** Soldiers from Charlie Company, 3rd Platoon patrol in Nanglam village in the Pesh Valley, Kunar, Afghanistan on Thursday Dec. 4, 2008. The unit was providing security for a local English school graduation ceremony in an effort to maintain support from the local community and stabalise the insecurity in this pro-Taliban region close to the Pakistan border which sees some of the heaviest fighting in Afghanistan.
