Humberto Silva, 72, left, is currently living with longtime friend Angie Pape, right, and her family, as he deals with his health problems without medical insurance. Silva, though not a U.S. citizen, is taking steps to become naturalized. He has been paying into social security for over 35 years and only received his first check in March 2004 after leaving his job in 2001 because of health problems.
