Varanasi, India - A Sadu is a Hindu holy man who devotes his life to spirituality, forsaking all material possessions. They spend their entire lives wandering the Indian Subcontinent living on what handouts people give them. They're known to do some crazy things to prove their devotion: One has kept his arm over his head for over 30 years, another kept a water bucket balanced on his head for over 20 years. Despite their intricacies, they're generally very friendly and love to have their picture taken (for a small donation, of course). (image by Neil Wade)
