Parishioners and clergy from the Church of the Epiphany form a procession after blessing the building site of a church to be built on the confluence of the Volga and Kotorosl Rivers in Yaroslavl to replace the one destroyed by the Soviets in the 1930s. Local activists call the church’s design “gigantimania” and UNESCO has said it is not in keeping with the historic face of the city center, which is protected by the organization.
