Canela, a resident at Casa Xochiquetzal, tries to take a visiting dog on a walk. Casa Xochiquetzal givse elderly sex workers a community, health services, food and shelter, a space to learn about their human rights and courses to help them rediscover their self-confidence and deal with traumatic aspects of their lives. The shelter gives the women a dignified way out of their profession. It is the only such shelter existing in Latin America.
