That’s right, this invite goes out to everyone and their grandmother here.
My dear friend David Trattles, who I take great pride in telling introduced me to and mentored me in photography, is exhibiting a retrospective of his photography from Canada here in New Delhi, and this evening (February 12, 2008) is the opening.
Some of you reading this may already know that Dave and I rode locally built Atlas bicycles from New Delhi to Calcutta together and then after we arrived, I split off and he stayed there to create a body of work on islamic women boxers in Calcutta. He’s just finished exhibiting that in Calcutta and the exhibition was very well received. Unfortunately the gallery person here in Delhi did not organize invites well enough in advance and so I just found out last night when Dave flew in.
Dave says the space is enormous and can fit hundreds of people plus a tennis court.
So my fellow lightstalkers friends here in this great city of New Delhi, as it is opening night and he has gone to the trouble of organizing all of this (plus flying in for it), lets give him a warm welcome with as many people to show up tonight for his opening as possible. If you know anyone else that would like to join, please do have them along or pass on the invitation.
Attached below is the invite with all the details, but in case there’s some problem viewing the invite the venue is: The Stainless Gallery, property no 1 & 2, Mira complex, Ishwar nagar, Okhla crossing, Mathura road, New Delhi – 110020
The gallery has set the timing for the opening to start at 6pm and go until 9:30, but if enough people show up during that time, the gallery will stay open later. There will be food and wine for everyone that comes, so the sooner people can come after work, the better.
It should be a good time with great photography on display and a perfect venue for meeting people. If you can make it out, Dave will look forward to seeing you there!
All the best,
-adam
