iran visa

hello alltogether,

some help needed…
does anybody know if it is possible to obtain a visa for iran on the border, when going by train from istanbul to teheran?

i heard that it is possible to get a 17- day tourist visa when entering iran via imam khomeini international airport in teheran, and asked myself if the same is possible when entering iran by train?

any advice appriciated

Not sure as I always went with (hard to obtain) journalist visas…
I would get in touch with the nearest Iranian embassy (ideally Vienna if you are Austrian) and ask them, they are usually surprisingly helpful and easy to deal with.

check lonely planet,if there is a possibility. To be on the safe side enter via airport the tourist visa took about a hour or so, or get the visa from your nearest embassy.

i’m sure that from italy to teheran is possible to have the visa in the aiport a teheran as you said; the price is 50€
(i come back from theran one week ago)
at the embassy in rome confirm me this possibility only if you have the ticket for return trip within seven days; at the airport instead give me the 15 days visa…

for the train trip i’m not sure: i think that the advices of Bruno is the better way to have not problem

thanks for your kind advice, i was at the embassy today…the visa will come in about 3-4 weeks. very friendly people there, very helpful by the way!
