Iraq: Reporting the War
|
FRONTLINE World on PBS will air a 21-minute segment about journalists covering Iraq titled “Iraq: Reporting the War” on Tuesday, January 11th at 9pm. (check local listings)
The segment, reported and filmmed by Nick Hughes and produced by Marcela Gaviria, follows correspondents John Burns and Dexter Filkins of the New York Times, Rory McCarthy of the Guardian (London), Alastair MacDonald of Reuters, Jackie Spinner of the Washington Post and Getty photographer Scott Peterson as they struggle to cover an increasingly dangerous post-war Iraq. The piece also features a number of dedicated Iraqi stringers, translators and colleagues who make much of the reporting possible due to the increasing level of violence aimed at foreign correspondents.
It is a well reported, well produced film. For viewer outside the United States, it can be seen online at: www.frontline.org/world

Scott i checked the website you mentioned and found some other really good up-to-date videos there as well. most from 2004 where the subjects are still in debate today …
The one i thought specially good is entitled “Rumsfeld’s War” – can be found here:

Leo,
Thanks for checking it out. The main FRONTLINE website and the one for FRONTLINE World are really well done and great sources of information. Some of the best videojournalism is being produced for World. Unfortunately, it takes them some time to get the most current shows up online. The “Iraq: Reporting the War” should be up on the site by the end of the week. Hope you can tune in on Tuesday to watch it.
Cheers, Scott
