UNEMBEDDED: Four Independent Photojournalists on the War in Iraq
University of Washington Odegaard Undergraduate Library
September 20-December 5, 2008
UNEMBEDDED is a national touring exhibit of 60 powerful and visually stunning images that tell the story of the war’s impact on the lives of the Iraqi people “on the ground” where the war is being waged. It is a powerful expression of the effects of war that go largely ignored by the mainstream media. It aims to enhance public awareness of the effects of U.S. policy on the Iraqis, their country and returning American veterans and their families.

I had the pleasure of seeing the exhibition last year here in Toronto, at the gallery around Ossington & Queen. I appreciate and value the work you guys did, some of the images were really hard for me to keep my eyes on, very moving content and shot selection. I hope that one day I can hit that level of courage and compassion to work in the places akin to where you guys had to hit in order to finish this project.
Bravissimo!

Thank you, Giordano. Much appreciated.
I thought the exhibit might have run its course by now but the big crowd in Seattle showed that there is still interest. We’re currently looking for support in Denver for January and Boston/Cambridge, Massachusetts as soon as possible.

Would you be interested in a Salt Lake City venue to piggy back with the Denver show ? I cna likely arrange something at a university here. Tell Kael hi for me; she taught at the Foundry in MExico City and I went into the field with her a bit.
