Ivan Pierre Aguirre

Ivan Pierre Aguirre was born in El Paso, Texas, which is on the border with Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Ivan began looking through a camera viewfinder in high school where he worked for the yearbook and newspaper for four years. His first photography internship was at the San Angelo Standard-Times from June to August 2006. Ivan completed an internship in May 2007, working as a photojournalist for Scripps Howard News Service in Washington, D.C. Bureau assignments include: The 2007 State of the Union Address, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA, WNBA, and MLS sporting events and has covered the White House and Capitol Hill. His work appeared all over the United States in E.W. Scripps Co. newspapers and in more than 400 wire publications the bureau serves. His greatest learning experience while in Washington, D.C. was assisting Joachim Ladefoged from VII Photo Agency on a photo shoot for The New York Times magazine, PLAY.

Ivan is currently interning for The Washington Post Co. in their multimedia dept. at Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive.
