James Morgan (b. 1986) is a multi-award winning photojournalist and filmmaker. The majority of his work is focused around providing supplementary narratives to environmental and human rights policy. His images have led campaigns for The World Wildlife Fund, United States Agency for International Development and the United Nations Refugee Agency.

He is also interested in wider ethnographic work, particularly concerning the meeting of indigenous cosmologies and the natural world; typically merging funding sources in order to tackle subjects beyond the scope of conventional editorial assignments. The resulting bodies of work have won numerous awards, exhibited internationally and been published in The Sunday Times Magazine, New York Times, The Guardian, Der Spiegel etc. – as well as online at National Geographic and the BBC.

James merges his passion for storytelling with a rigorously ethnographic methodology, stressing intimacy with his subject matter and working out of compassion, respect and understanding for the people and issues he is fortunate enough to photograph. It is this approach that enables him to capture unique and stunning images from some of the most remote places in the world. He has travelled to over 60 countries and is comfortable working in any environment and can speak English, Malaysian, Spanish, Icelandic and Indonesian.

James is an ambassador for underwater housing manufacturer Aquatech and is represented by London-based Panos Pictures.

Photographer needed in NY october

Hey hey,

I am supposed to be shooting a wedding in NY on the 11th Oct but i’ve had to pull out at the last minute due to other commitments, if anyone out there is interested in shooting it for me please email me a portfolio james {at} jamesmorganphotography.co.uk i have a small company for commercial work like this so would be employing you through that, pay will be around $1000-1200…

The portfolio can be any type of imagery, i don’t do typical wedding photography and my clients aren’t really looking for that, so commercial/documentary/fine art portfolios are all fine…

Fingers crossed there’ll be more work in the future as well….
