Jason Florio was born in London and has been based in New York City since 1996. He trained under some of New York’s top fashion and portrait photographers before launching his own career. His work has been published around the globe and has been acquired by the Brooklyn Museum of Art, as well as by private collectors. In 2004 he received a grant from ‘The Joy of Giving Something’ to produce the first ever assigned story for Aperture – “This is Libya”. The main focus of his photography is to attempt to reveal the unseen, and to provide an alternative point of view on people and places.
