“ With any photograph, it is important for me to not contrive anything; I feel that to capture a place in its purest form one must look to the immediacy of the subject. To capture a moment is to express the authentic emotion within a scene. I always hope to bring emotion into my pictures and find I am most successful when I focus on the simple and am prepared for the unexpected. It is also important for me to bring out universal qualities in my imagery…to the point where it doesn’t matter where the image was taken. What I am trying to capture are real human emotions; this is the essence of my photography.”

Jonathan’s images from Asia and the Indian Subcontinent have appeared in several international publications, including B&W Magazine (US), Digi (Czech Republic), Climbing Magazine (US), Brick Literary Journal (CAN) and Silvershotz (UK). He received honorable mention at the 2007 INTERNATIONAL PHOTO AWARDS for his series entitled “Ganges Flood Plain”. He is currently working on several projects, including “The Sacred Spaces” and “Portrait of a Worker”. His first international exhibition will take place in November 2008 at the Wave Photogallery in Brescia, Italy.
