Went to little, tiny — yet beloved — Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. (“Fling wide the Red and Black!”) After 9 years down South mastering both the pet-of-the-week and the grip-and-grin, started freelancing in Washington, DC, in 2003. Cover a wide range of assignments, from sports to the White House. Was a 2001 Pew Fellow in International Journalism (now known as the International Reporting Project — please check them out at www.journalismfellowships.org), and have worked on 5 continents.
