GalleryRecent PostDo you want to contribute to the "Blue sky series project" ?As part of the evolution of my “Blue sky series project” I would like to invite everybody to contribute with a picture similar as the first pictures of this project shown in my blog (http://jorgemmblog.blogspot.com/). It is not necessary to be a professional photographer to participate. As long as you can meet the requirements explained below, you can contribute. The purpose of this invitation is to make this project extensive to as many people as possible, since physically is not possible for me to travel to all the places I would like to. So, everybody living or traveling outside Mexico City is welcome to send his/her photos. Doing this, you become my hands and my eyes, and I would really appreciate the time you spend taking and preparing your picture for this idea. All contributions will be posted in this site and an exhibition will be done at the end of 2008 in Mexico City and future exhibitions are intended to be displayed in the cities where the pictures were taken. About the Blue sky series project The “Blue sky series project” was conceived after many time of taking pictures of the sky. The first attempts were based in the aesthetic conception of the colors the sky offers every day with all the elements one can find there, during different times of the day, specially during the morning and the afternoon, when it is possible to use and combine elements to make strong compositions. But after some time, the deep blue color of the sky captured my attention in an unconscious manner, since I found myself taking pictures with no more elements than the sky. No clouds, no moon, no sun, no references at all that could give information about the place where the picture was taken. The pictures were clean, abstract and, in a certain way, they were also powerful. The transition from an unclear motivation to a clear goal emerged, and every time I was away from home, I took a sample of the “blue ceiling” from the place I was visiting. But there was something that limited this collection: the fact I was not traveling so often as I would like to. So, I decided to ask help to all my friends to complement this activity, and no much later, the invitation was open to every body who wanted to contribute to this project. This is where this experience is extensive to a massive audience, collaborating all together capturing a bit of the sky that all we share here, on Earth. Photo requirements: 1. The picture can be analog or digital. In case film is used, the picture has to be scanned. 2. The photo must include only a blue part of the sky. No other references should be included, such as trees, planes, clouds, etc. It is recommended to take the picture at noon, when the sky has a deeper tone of blue. 3. Save your picture in JPG format, at least 1024 pixels in the largest side of the picture and 100 dpi. For example, 1024 × 768 @ 100 dpi. Pictures taken with a cell phones are ok. 4. Once your picture is ready, send it to the e-mail address photo@jorgemm.com, including the following information in the message:
