Joseph Agcaoili started his photojournalism career in 2003 when he landed as correspondent photographer in one of the Philippines’ major English daily, the Manila Standard. He is self taught in photography though he joined photography workshops in the past, it is by experience through his assignments where he learned the craft. In 2004 he was taken in as a stringer at the Manila bureau office of Agence France Presse and also gets assignments from Philippine Daily Inquirer, one of the top English dailies in the country. He has covered political, economic, social issues and breaking news events in the Philippines. He joined Reuters Manila bureau in 2005 as a regular photo stringer. In 2008 he decided to go freelance and has worked with the Straits Times of Singapore, Greenpeace, Oxfam International, United Nations-World Food Programme, International Committee of the Red Cross, Associated Press and also takes commercial work for clients in advertising and corporate accounts.
