About
Verzosa (Philippines, b. 1979) had to make a decision.
Caught between staying in the binary clean lines of the corporate I.T. world and trekking out into the volatile marshland of photography— he naturally took the illogical latter choice.
Today, Verzosa’s photos have been constantly gracing international publications like Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, Seventeen, T3, Marie Claire, Good Housekeeping and most of the local glossies. He is also in the forefront of the local fashion photography scene and has taken cut-edge projects that took him to outside destinations like Guam and several cities in South East Asia. Not to be nailed down to one visual genre, Verzosa also concentrates on socially relevant photo-documentaries and admits to having a personal slant for civic-minded works to balance himself out amidst his glitzy projects. He donates much of his work to a UNDP-funded anti-poverty campaign run by an alternative education NGO called Rock Ed Philippines.
It is intriguing to watch the expanse of Verzosa’s work. He gives off the impression of someone who can swiftly take on crucial decisions. This is because Verzosa is attuned to his personal decisive moment. Many say that this particular trait separates the rudimentally good photographers from the inspired ones.
