Jyothy Karat

Jyothy Karat is a multimedia journalist based in India.

She worked with AOL Time Warner from 2007-2010 as a photo editor handling AOL’s photography website Pixcetera.com and managing photo teams for AOL’s entertainment and lifestyle websites. She has been freelancing since.

Jyothy Karat is the recipient of a special grant from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and World Press Photo for the Diploma in Multimedia Journalism program (2012) at the Asian Center for Journalism, Ateneo de Manila University, Phillipines.

In 2009, Jyothy was selected for the Angkor Photo Workshop in Siem Reap, Cambodia as one of the 29 emerging photographers from Asia.

Her work is regularly published in Lonely Planet Magazine India, Forbes Magazine India and the national daily, The Indian Express.
