Kabul via Baku - don't carry your vest..

Just wanted to share a travel tip: don’t hand carry your flak jacket through Baku airport. Wanting to avoid paying for luggage over-wheight on my way to Kabul on Azerbajan Airways, I descided to carry my vest (without plates). It also made a decent pillow for the stay at the airport …it was a long transit stop over…
But upon going through security at the gate I was stopped, and many men with walkie talkies appeared. In the end I got through, but not before they had claimed I was doing something illegal, taken my luggage off the plane for closer inspection , and they had spent considerable time on their walkie talkies..
Save yourself the same hassle by paying for your extra kilos if you go that way.
