Karen Dias is a documentary photojournalist who spent over four years based in the UAE working as a Staff Photographer for national daily Gulf News. She has participated in various exhibitions in the UAE, India and Indonesia. She was selected to be a part of the Angkor Photo Workshop in 2009 and photographed blind masseurs in Siem Reap for the workshop. While in the UAE, she worked on personal projects about immigrant camel jockeys in the UAE and a project based in the old heritage district of Dubai which is soon-to-be demolished.
After her stint in the Middle East, she spent fourteen months traveling overland through ten countries in Asia from Turkey to UAE, India, Nepal, Hong Kong, China, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar exploring and working on personal photo projects.
Karen speaks English, Hindi, basic French and Turkish.
She is currently based out of Mumbai and is available for assignment.
