Award-winning photographer Karen I. Hirsch tells “the story” through her photos. She captures the essence of an event, a place or a person. She anticipates and captures “the decisive moment” which could be as diverse as the peak action in a yacht race or the timid glance of a child.
Karen I. Hirsch has been called upon to photograph once in a lifetime occasions such as
the International Millennium dinner hosted by the city of Chicago and Mayor Richard M. Daley. The government of China invited her to be one of ten foreign photographers to document the city of Rizhao. The photos were used to attract tourism and business to the area.
Hirsch’s images have been featured in international publications. She works with corporations, advertising agencies and editorial outlets. Many travel books showcase her photos.
Her experience spans more than two decades. Earlier in her career, Hirsch worked as the in-house photographer and magazine editor for Foote, Cone & Belding Advertising. She has studied with well-respected photographers Ernst Haas, Arnold Newman and Jay Maisel.
