Katya Bogachevskaya

Born Febrary 16, 1986 St.Petersburg .
In 2002-2003 studied management at the St.Petersburg State University, graduated in 2007 from journalism faculty of the same university. In 2004-2005 also studied at the Galperin photocorrespondents faculty. Took up photography while in high school, at the Anichkov Palace photo studio. In 2003 worked as a journalist, photographer in ‘Eks’ magazine.
In 2004-2005 worked as a guide and Russian-Italian interpreter. Also speaks English and French. Was a finalist for the ‘Northern Palmira’ and ‘Modern View’ contests, participant of the group shows ‘Reportage without Borders’ and a prizewinner of ‘The Best Photojournalist of the Year’ (St.Petersburg).
Her photographs were published in National Georgaphic, Ogoniok, Krasny, Expert, Blacksquare, D-Repubblica, NRC Handelsblad, Blacksquare etc.
She participated in some group exhibitions in Russia, Ukraine, UK.
Now she works as a freelance photographer.
