Kenneth Jarecke was born in 1963 in Fairfax, Missouri. He established his reputation as a maverick photographer with images from the political scene in the Ronald Reagan years (1980-88) and student demonstrations in Tiananmen Square in China (1989), as well as a famed black and white essay for Time on New York (1990). He has covered every U.S. presidential campaign and seven Olympics Games since 1988. He is the author of Just Another War (Bedrock Press), a photographic black and white personal diary from the Gulf conflict (1991). He has been a member of Contact Press Images since 1986. He lives in Montana and is a contributing photographer for U.S. News and World Report.

Camera gear in Cairo

My nephew has a practically new Nikon D3s he’s trying to sell in Cairo. He’s the original owner (this isn’t a camera that has been recently “liberated”!). It’s barely used, I think it’s just more camera than he needs. If anyone needs to replace a body in-country, here’s a chance to do so.

He also has a bunch of glass, and/or knows where to get it.
