Kidnaped member in Somalia

Just a few lines to let all of you know that the Spanish photogrpher José Cendón ~~member of this big community and winner of a world press photo last year~~ has been kidnapped while working on a pirates story for the english Telegraph. Let´s hope all finishes well.

“Aunque nosotros no hemos hablado con ellos, distintas fuentes (no identificadas), nos han confirmado que les han visto y que están en buen estado”, ha afirmado el embajador español en Kenia, responsable también de las relaciones con Somalia.

We are collecting signatures to accompany a text prepared by Pepe Baeza, Sr. Photo Editor at La Vanguardia Magazine in Barcelona, Spain, with the intention of pressuring for the liberation of two journalists, who were recently kidnapped in Somalia.

“We, the people who have signed this letter, ask that the Spanish government, the agency AFP and The Daily Telegraph initiate all that they can to liberate the journalists from the Somalian kidnappers.”
