Robert Kirkham

I am presently a senior staff photographer at The Buffalo News and have enjoyed the employ of Western New York’s daily newspaper since 1990.  I graduated with a degree in Photojournalism from The University of Texas at Austin.  I was born in Sidney  and grew up in Schenectady, N.Y.  where I attended Linton High School. I lived briefly and studied in Boston, MA before moving to the west coast of New York state to attend S.U.N.Y. College at Fredonia in the "fine arts’ program.  I have accepted assignments from MTV,  The Associated Press, The New York Times, Newsweek, The New York Post, Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, various trade and labor magazines and had the joy to shoot my first annual report for a publicly traded company last year.     



My work has mellowed over the last decade and I have learned to grant much more respect  to the subjects, things and places in my photographs.  It didn’t take very long to realize that not everything is about me.   



I am always available for interesting editorial and commercial assignments.
