Description

To provide young artists from abroad with the chance to work in their own studio. The pricipal aim of the projects are: Becoming acquainted with the Austrian art scene, the realisation of a personal work programme and its final presentation. participants have generally completed art education at a college and have had several years experience of independent work. Selection is made on the basis of documentation of the applicants’s work. The programmes are only open to artists from Central and Eastern Europe.

Application Criteria

Since 1995 the residency has had a theme each time. Artists apply for a place, make a presentation of their concepts and a jury chooses the successful candidates.Visual artists from Africa, Asia, the Arab world or Latin America who has completedart education at a college level and has had several years experience of independent work. Working knowledge of English and/or German required.
