The Unstuck Workshop

The Unstuck Workshop is an eight week photographic workshop which explores creative strategies to take your project to the NEXT level. Unstuck is designed to get you mentally focused, organized and motivated to achieve your specific goal. During the workshop you will learn new tools to overcome internal and external obstacles that have been blocking your creativity and success. In order to track your progress, you will be given weekly assignments customized to expand your work to it’s maximum potential.
Unstuck is taught by Andre Lambertson and Lauri Lyons, two veteran photographers, filmmakers, editors and teachers. Unstuck utilizes a hands on individual approach with each student to build and sustain a creative momentum and make you believe in the value of your unique vision. Guest artists, writers and professionals from photo agencies, PR firms, and production companies will contribute practical information and strategies for you to implement into your daily artistic practice. Through the process of discussions, assignments, critiques and guest presenters you will become empowered to creatively expand your ideas into new territories. The aim of Unstuck is to get you out of your creative, financial and emotional rut and move you into the fields of action, growth and prosperity. Andre Lambertson is the recipient of four Picture of the Year Awards, The World Press Photo Award, and The OSI George Soros Media Fellowship., and most recently the Pulitzer Center Media grant for work on child soldiers in West Africa. Lambertson’s editorial clients include Time, US News and World Report, Life, National Geographic, and The New York Times Magazine. His work has been most recently exhibited at the International Center of Photography, The Smithsonian, The Corcoran Gallery, and Perpignan. Lauri Lyons is the author of two monographs, Flag: An American Story (2001) and Flag International (2008). She has photographed essays in Brazil, Europe, Mexico, West Africa,
and the United States. Her editorial clients include Stern, Trace, The Fader, Vibe, and The London Observer. Lauri Lyons is the first Black woman to shoot the cover of Fortune magazine and the first Black female photographer to be signed to Getty Images. She has served as a faculty member for the International Center of Photography, and the Rhode Island School of Design. Lyons was previously a Photo Editor for Magnum Photos, The Source, Essence Magazine and is a contributing writer for The Huffington Post. www.laurilyons.com
