Learning Photography

Hey guys…
I am new to this site and new to photography. I’ve done some work in South East Asia in the past year but I have so much to learn. Other than screwing around with my camera…which is a Cannon rebel…I was wondering if anyone had any advice about a particularly good book that gives good tips on the use of light, learning how to manipulate light with aperture, shutter, ISO
Generally, I am just looking for an excellent book for amateur photographers. If anyone has any ideas, I’d be indebted to you.
Much Thanks!
