Hector,

I also want to know why? Are you switching fully to figital or something?

I’m switching my leica m’s for a couple of 5D’s. I find that I’m now mostly shooting either meduim format (mamiya 6’s) or digital. So, my leicas are just sitting around collecting dust. The 5D’s are no leicas, but they are small enough for me and the files look very nice.

the Epson D1 seems like a good camera. But because I like to shoot w/ wide fast lenses i need a full frame sensor. With the Epson the 24/2.8 becomes a 36/2.8 and that just seems to slow for me.

I am keeping an m6 w/ a 35/1.4, but mainly just so that J stops calling me a pansy!

Good to hear from you Heinrich. I assume Barcelona still treating you well.

Best,

Hector.

Hey Hector,
Is this the same Leica gear you dropped in the ocean last week?

Uh, without wanting to get a little OT, but Davin may have coined one of the great words of this century. Figital What’s the real word fidget? I mean digital photographers have turned into people who fidget all the time. Have you ever (EVER) shot a day of digital and not chimped? It’s fidgeting. Backing up to hardrives, CDs, or DVDs? Fidgeting in a sense. Remember how relaxing it was at the end of a day shooting film? You could relax, get a cold beverage or six, go to dinner. Whatever. Now. No way. Back in the motel room fidgeting with your digital pictures. Davin—cheers to you for “figital”.
