Auto burn! Ha! Maybe lens constructors should call bad vignetting an “auto burn” feature and start charging more for it!

the link seems dead – try:

Glad they finally went with an “Optical” lens.

I do sort of wish they made a camera that can use 120 film…

Good to bump into you the other day at Kodoji, David. Next round is on me.

So it’s a Holgaica?

by Preston Merchant | 24 Aug 2007 17:08 | New York, United States |
”* One of the more interesting technical breakthroughs is the “auto burn”. Realizing that many photographers like to burn in the corners of their images to draw attention towards the center, the new Leica-H comes with a lens preconfigured to achieve these results…”

How cool is that?? Hurray!

Definitely one for Akaky! PHC.

LOL, I love Holga’s, so I’d love to shoot a Holga with a Leica logo on it!

:))))))))))))))))

ok, gonna ditch all my toys, the Holga, Lomo, (gift from mr. sharko :)) ), pin-hole and plastic polaroid camera korean student gave me last year :))))...

we all know how important that red-dot is for street, gallery and editorial cred ;))))))

but it’s that “auto burn” that’s just wicked and gave me a major-major burn, is wicked: yea baby, no more light-leaks, no more painintheass tape falling off and ejecting back mid-through a roll…and that’s a cost saver-savior for the darkroom $$: no more lengthy time dealing with that damn 5 year old piece of cardboard that my wife and i have to wield like a Jeti sword in the darkroom exposing the prints while burning that so-passe way in the darkroom.,,,,,

Yo, Vink: what did you drop $6,000 for for the new Leica Digi ??? ;)))))))))

cheers,
b

So, you’re shooting sports with one of these, now? How do you get the images into your Macbook?

by Jerry Redfern | 27 Aug 2007 04:08 | Albuquerque, NM, United States |
Where or how do I get one? Just did a quick google search and….

It’s interesting to see so many Lightstalkers getting excited about a camera that’s been around for about 20 years and is, in my opinion, the essence of what ‘lightstalking’ is supposed to be all about – no meter, just one rather undetermined shutter speed, your eye and a bit of intuition. Sure, it’s an easy target for a joke, but for me the Holga is about the most creative photographic tool I have. Take a look at my gallery, or better still if you’re in the region come by Vientiane in October and catch my show at the French Centre there – panoramas (I call them Holgaramas) and big blow-ups on vinyl. Should be interesting.
