LEON BESSAR is a freelance professional photojournalist.
While in service Air Force he started to cooperated with mass media and published some articles about the Afganistan war 1979-1989. After completing his service he became an editorial staff member of the daily newspaper to work as a photoreporter (1990-1992).
After that he was offered a job at an international news agency. During the following years he has cooperated with various foreign information agencies, magazines and newspapers. He has organized several personal photo exhibitions and prepared a couple of books for publication.
While working for the news agency BNS he increased his professional qualification several times, including a training program in the Center for Foreign Journalists, in Restom, Virginia. He has completed an intensive language course at the Aspect International Language School, University of Central Florida, under guidance of the Eastern Linkage Institute. He has had internship in such American newspapers as St. Petersburg Times and Daytona Beach News Journal.

He has participated in the international conference on challenges for photojournalists InterPhoto held in Moscow, and also
World Press Photo (1997, 1999) Amsterdam.
