I’m completely self taught, twenty year old student photographer, looking to go into journalism when I finish my degree in History.
I’m the photo editor and sometimes photographer for the University of Warwick’s award winning student paper, The Boar, Warwick Students Union photographer, and training officer for the University of Warwick’s Photographic Society, which basically means I spend alot of time running around with a camera around my neck and an eye open for interesting photographs. Alongside these I have various side projects going on with more of an emphasis on photography for exhibition rather than publication.
Gear
I mainly use a Canon 40D, for the quick turn around times between shooting and distributing, although I much prefer shooting film, mainly 35mm for its sheer convenience. For this I use a 1970’s Canon SLR and a 1960’s Soviet rangefinder. I also find it hard not to be drawn to using medium format because of its sheer detail.
