I am now 25 and recently brought the ashes over the plains back to my adult home of Denver. I began to think about our relationships created with these vessels, these urns that contain the most precious material in our life. It seemed so strange to me to have my father riding shotgun in the cup holder of my car across Kansas. The last time we rode in a car together he was helping me move to Denver for my first time away from home to pursue to college. I would like to start a series of portraits of people with their loved ones cremations and the various different kinds of vessels we hold them in. I am looking for volunteers of course, but I certainly would love to include a couple other photographers in this body of work. I am not able to travel yet for this project, but if anyone is near Colorado please look me up! Keywords |
