I’m a former public affairs specialist for the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). I spent a year in the Kirkuk Province in Iraq. I’m trained as a videographer, but after our still photographer was sent home, I took up still photography. I’m also a writer, writing stories for various newspaper and magazine publications, as well as video newscasts. After the Army I plan to go to graduate school to study international affairs with a focus on human rights. I love traveling and plan on taking a camera with me everywhere I go and would love to be a freelance photojournalist. My primary focus is on spontaneous shots usually involving people and specifically portraits. I’m still a novice at this and welcome any feedback and advice.
