LONDON PRINTERS

I just got bad news from the Ei8ht Foto Summer Showcase that the tube I shipped my print in arrived squashed. As a result I’m thinking it might make more sense to have a local printer do the work and messenger it over to Host Gallery.

Any one have any suggestions on printers in London?

Thanks.

Scari, I’m about to move back to London and since Metro closed, I gather, where might be a good alternative? There’s no Joe’s Basement anymore either, right?

Cheers,

Joes basement is defunct.Metro hasnt closed,it has just downsized since the closure of the Clerkenwel branch last year.

Charlie.I would recommend Spectrum Photographic in Hove.
They print exhibitions for photographers all throughout Europe and they ship as well.Frankly,Id give Metro a wide birth.Spectrum are alot better then Metro going on personal experience.Plus their prices are cheaper because they are based in a small town, hence the lower overheads.

Thanks all. Ei8ht also recommended Metro and offered to pick up the print for me, so I think for convenience sake, I’ll go with them. It’s one print and I can’t trust delivery from Spain anymore. I mean they crushed a triangle pack, which is NOT easy task!

I’d recommend http://www.darksidephoto.co.uk/ who are over the road from Host, and will most likely be cheaper than Metro.

Ok, I’ll consider them as well. Thanks Phil!
