Hi Sandra, I'm leaving for Cuba in a few hours and can't put together a package right now but I have an interesting group of photos about a desert community in California. Go to www.jameswasserman.com and look for Wonder Valley. Alot of the info is there. Thanks Jim

Hi Sandra
I have stock with WpN and I'm about to publish a book the subject of which might make for an interesting feature. Since 1995 I've been making observations of US flag etiquette in New York, some of which are rather funny and some pathetic. I can prepare a lightbox for you via Digital Railroad if you like. You can also see a slide show here. However, the backing track (Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner) will unlikely work for you.
Cheers,
Paul Treacy

this is a one year old posting ....
|
Noted. I remember now. It was just about the time that WpN came online with their new website.
How daft we all are sometimes.
|
Yes, it is from last year, but Annika at WPN will still help you out. . .
|
|
|
I do hope Annika is still around. I have tried to contact her months ago... but got no answer whatsoever. A 'no thanks' at least, would be polite, after all, i'd say ...

hey everybody.....this thread is over a year old, and sandra doesn't work for WpN anymore. so, if you're looking to get your story published...this probably isn't going to work.
|
THIS THREAD NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN.
|
Thanks you guys, didn't really notice the date that well of the original message.
Should indeed be shut down then, thanks for letting us know Sandra doens't work there anymore.
And i hope its's not to late to still wish everybody a happy 2006.

Hey Sandra,
My name is Vivek Singh and I am a documentary photographer based out of New Delhi, India. I recently shot at a huge contruction site of a hyro electricity power plant at a place called Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. The construction company thier employs around 7000 migrant workers. Most of these workers come from Western Uttar Pradesh and Bihar states. Over the past year atleast one worker dies due to some kind of an accident on this site. I have captures in both colour and black and white both the conditions of work, the construction site and some portraits of these workers, a large population of whom are women.
The way these workers work here like cattle for a daily wage is a chilling reminder that under the glitz and neon of the global economy lie buried the hopes and dreams (and sometimes the bodies) of poor and desperate migrant workers.
If you are interested, I could send you some low res images with captions and a story.
Regards,
Vivek Singh.

It's never too late Wendy. Happy days to you too.
|
Hey Vivek, don't you read other peoples posts?
|
don't close the thread! this starts to be funny ....
|
Bugger - close the thread!
|
just sent you an email, sandra

This is silly, how can you expect editors to take you all seriously, you dont even read the damn posts so you have no idea that your efforts are for naught. For crissakes, I dont know how half of you survive in this business. Hell, let the thread unwind, this is hilarious.
|
Hi Sandra
sent you a lot of emails, even at WPN but no answers...
is it a joke?
thanks
cyril

What was the recent thread about "pros" vs. "amateurs"?
|
Inbetween all those posts you can read how LS has grown since 2004....
|
I really don't understand you guys. Don't you think the business is tough enough to shut down this tread and save time to everyone?
I noticed this treat long time ago and was surprised to see it again. Come on! If you want to play with amateurs or beginners it's up to you. But without me.
|
It is kinda funny, but unfortunately it seems more of our fellow collegues are getting fooled than there are people getting a laugh out of it...
So I just took the liberty of writing Shinji asking for him to shut it down.
all the best to all of you, David
