Loving Peru

In Lima for a few more days, then off to Chincha/Carmen to document Afro-Peruvian musicians and then Cusco to see the ruins of Machu Picchu. Got any contacts in either place? Holla back.

Paz y luz,
Gigi

hey gigi, give yourself plenty of time in cuzco and surrounding areas. paucartambo is amazing as is the camino inca. some areas less touristed but just amazing are tarma, la merced and san ramon in the sierra de lima and la oroya. oroya is a smokey nasty mining town but great for photos, very cold at night. from there, high up in the andes you can drop into tarma which sits in a beautiful valley where they grow many types of flowers and then into la merced, where the amazon meets the andes: fresh fruit, waterfalls, river fish..amazing stuff, great photos. so much to see in peru: huancabamba, iquitos, chachapoyas, cajamarca…but save all that for the next trip.

enjoy yourself. make sure you go to the ukukus bar in cuzco!
