About

I am a phojournalist with a decade-long experience.

For 6 years I worked with Bloomberg News Photo department, covering major business and finance events in France. In November 2005, I opened Bloomberg’s photo bureau in China, becoming Chief Photographer for China, based in Beijing. In 2007 I started my own small photo agency: Pictobank, based in Shanghai.

My photos have been published in about all major international newspapers and magazines: International Herald Tribune, South China Morning Post, San Francisco Chronicle, The Guardian, Politiken, Suomen Kuvalethi, Figaro Magazine, Les Echos, Boston Globe, Sunday Telegraph, Le Monde…

In 2007 I received the National Headliner Award for Feature Photography.

Photo rates according to Union in Switzerland?

Hi all,
I did a couple of stories for a weekly paper in Switzerland. They don’t pay a lot for each photo, but he, I thought it was OK. But just now they crossed the line, telling me that they will not pay for the reprint (!) of my photo on the cover page or in the translated German edition. Enough is enough! Can someone tell me which photographers’ or photo agencies’ unions there are in Switzerland? Maybe even point me to their actual list of recommended rates for publication?
Thanks in advance,
Lucas
