Luka Dakskobler is a documentary photographer and photojournalist from Kranj, Slovenia. He has a BA in English and Journalism from the university of Ljubljana and has been working as a journalist and photojournalist since 1995. He specializes in in-depth stories and hard news. In his long career he has worked with many respected magazines, covering culture, entertainment and events, before moving to pressing social and environmental issues he is known for today. Luka won a record breaking seven Slovenia Press Photo awards in only two competitions. As Chuck-Norris-like as it sounds, he actually won three awards in 2011 (overall best story, best story in News category, best single image in Nature category) and four awards in 2013 (overall best story, best story in People category, best story in News category, best story in Nature category).
Luka is currently a regular contributor to National Geographic Junior. He has also produced long-term stories for National Geographic Slovenia and National Geographic Traveler (Slovenia). His news photos are distributed by Demotix Wire (London) and Imago (Berlin).
