Making a PW cable...

ok- i’m working on building myself a PW-Canon (N3) motor/trigger cable…
I bought the cheapo Adidt remote ($15 shipped), and i’ve got the 1/8" male-male Mono cable from Radio Shack….

i cut/stripped some off both needed cables, as req’d- and i can’t find a wire combination that works…. i’m far from skilled with this kind of stuff, so any help would be great!
any combination of connections i’ve made thus far either:
A) fires off the camera non-stop, or
B) nothing.

any help/experience would be great…. haha

just a guess: fires camera non-stop sounds like you might be shorting some cables. tape cleanly once you’ve made connections and try?

ok- my initial attempt was botched by a crappy cord from Radio Shack… i took the little PW-PC cord that comes w/ the PW’s, and cut it in half, to use it. Worked right away!!!!!
SO what i did, is spliced red-red, and white-white, didn’t use the Gnd in the remote side, so that it’s not a Pre-trigger… works like a charm!!!

Luis, that first link is golden, wish i wouldve had it a few days ago.

Total price: $18 for my own PW motor cord. I might start making these…
