Its resources should be a blessing for the Congolese people, but instead the competition for control of these riches has fueled a bloody war in which nearly four million people have died since 1998. A Congolese gold miner told Human Rights Watch, “We are cursed because of our gold. All we do is suffer.” Please RSVP by September 14th to Camille Joseph at 310-477-5540 or email josephc@hrw.org. Please allow extra time for security check. The Hidden Face of Gold Exhibit will be on display at the Museum of Tolerance from September 18th – November 2nd, 2007. For hours and visitor information, please visit the museum’s website. Recent posts from Marcus Bleasdale's Personal Network
