Marika Kataja-Lian

Have been working as foreign news journalist 10+ years in several national media companies in Finland – mostly newspapers, online desk or news agencies but also in TV and radio, and as a freelancer.

Has been covering news on Thailand tsunami catastrophe 2004/05 (wrote a documentary book), Lebanon war 2006 (awarded), Afghanistan, Middle East, South-East Asia etc. Lived and worked in Lebanon several months in 2007 and 2009.

Both writes and photographs professionally. Has done photojournal reportages and video journalism too.

Has studied both journalism and photography (degree).
