Markos Dolopikos was born in Thessaloniki in 1967.
In 1983 he creates his first dark room.
He comes in Athens to study Graphic Arts at the Technical University of Athens and in the afternoon he studies Photography Direction at the Cinema School of Lykourgos Stavrakos, having teachers such as Theodoros Agelopoulos, Pantelis Voulgaris, Vasilis Raphailidis and others.
In 1988 he opens his first studio in Athens and he starts working with popular magazines of the time (PLAYBOY, ad Business, Millenium, COMPUTER, SPORTIVE, NOTOS PRIVE, INFORMATION).
In 1993 he stops working for magazines and he starts working in advertising. He works for big companies, shooting their products (Good Year, Unilever, Knorr, Hellmann’s, Alsa, Lipton, NOYNOY, Becel, ΕΛΑΙΣ, Pummaro, Βιτάμ, BULER, CUTTY SHARK Crossing, NIKAS, Creta Farms, FULDA, Kelly, Morris, DUNLOP,
AVA, ROL, Forte, Essex, Purlan, Rif, Henkel, ER-LAC, HARLEY DAVIDSON).
In 2006 he starts giving photographs to Whitewall, gallery that belongs to the AVENSO group (Geo, Reuter’s) in Germany and later on he starts working with Andrea Schwarz (Amaroo Concept), who uses his photographs in the decoration of buildings. There are also other galleries in the UK, Spain and the USA, he gives photographs to (Saachi Art, Artelista, Photobistro).
In 2006 he starts giving photographs to two of the biggest international agencies (Getty Images, Alamy), which are responsible for the disposal of photographs in Europe and the USA. They are the main photographic source of the international Mass Media and many of his photos are used by them. For example: The Guardian, Time, Bloomberg, Daily Mirror (UK), Le Figaro (Fr), Sunday People (UK), CBS (USA), CNBC (USA), Abc News (USA), ABC (Australia), Eco prensa (Spain), Al Jazeera (Qatar), Avenso AG (publishing group in Germany), Contempo Media (Canada), SPH Magazines (publishing group in Singapore). Other big international companies also use his photographs, such as Oxford University Press, Apple, Google, IBM, General Electric Capital, Samsung Electronics, Amazon, Vodafone (Gr), Aegean airlines (Gr), Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Millennium Bank (Poland).
