I am currently interested in projects/subjects whose established profession or lifestyle is being effected/changed in either a positive or negative way by technology and global economics.

I am close to completing the first chapter of a long term project on Canadian Family Farms, and how they are being negativily effected by the U.S. Farm Bill. For several years Grain & Oilseed farmers have been losing money, and asking their government to intervene. In January 2007, the Canadian government filed a complaint through the WTO
indicating that the U.S. Farm Bill was hurting Canadian Farmers, thus laying the groundwork for what may become a battle similar to the softwood lumber issue, that was recently ratified.
