I will be traveling abroad in the next couple of months; to the Philippines, and then to Sol, Korea.  I have been told that thieves may come up, cut the camera straps with a knife, and have off with it if you are not careful.  Now I have been told this before when I was traveling to the Ukraine, Crimea specifically, but nothing ever happened. 

What, if anything, can I do to prevent this from happening..?  What are some great tricks and tips that you have learned while traveling in countries where things like that are prevelant..? 

I’d really hate to get some great images only for them to be taken…
